Coming Out of Stealth

Read PostHeadquartered in Toronto, Canada, vxIntel is a specialist malware data provider. The team behind vxIntel has more than 40 years of combined experience in threat intelligence collection, malware analysis, and data aggregation.
Try NowOur Malware Intelligence Platform (MIP) is your single source for everything malware. MIP collects in excess of 1 million artifacts daily, producing a data output of approximately 500K unique files per day. This amounts to +10TB of new binaries, URLs, domain information, metadata, and behavioral markers per month. Comparisons have shown that data provided by MIP is 40 to 60% unique vs competitors.
The platform also provides researchers with multi-scanning capabilities, behavioral analysis (sandboxing) tools & extended search tools such as YARA. Perhaps VXI’s most distinctive feature for researchers is access to a vast pool of historical malware data going back +10 years that is crucial in helping researchers contextualize their findings.
vxIntel launched in late 2019 in stealth mode. Interest was immediate, with several high-profile clients signing up within the first months of operations.
The platform is already in use by 20+ security companies, including market leaders like Crowdstrike, SecLytics, and HYAS.
With interest accelerating quickly, the company prepares to exit stealth mode late in 2021.
vxIntel is the brainchild of malware industry visionary Anthony Aykut. As a respected researcher, Anthony saw firsthand the challenges security companies and researchers faced trying to track down samples of the latest binaries and all the associated data so they could do what they do best: fight malware.
Another well-known impediment is cost. While big corporations have had access to highly-priced malware repositories for years, the prohibitive cost of these enterprise-level platforms have security providers spending enormous amounts of time, money, and effort to gather resources for R&D from alternative sources. VXI was created to give startups, small security companies, and researchers the room to concentrate on developing solutions, instead of spending valuable time trying to track down malware samples. Key benefits are:
An accomplished technology all-rounder, Anthony’s main area of focus has been malware and threat intelligence collection for more than 25 years. He is in charge of the day-to-day data collection, industry relations, product improvements, and business development.
Barbara is a veteran programme manager, team leader and all-round project wizard with a solid track record in IT, Media & Tech Services. She runs the day-to-day operations of the company, including but not limited to customer onboarding, contract & subscription management, and renewals.
We are always open to exploring new partnerships, be it for threat intelligence sharing, tips on new data sources or enquiries from those thinking of joining our team.
